Summary: We had a very good and relaxing experience. The pond with waterfall and walking the fence line were wonderful. Clean rooms just the right size. The decking around upper level made for a nice place for coffee in the morning and pizza in the evening. A truly tranquil place.

Summary: Perfect hotel for me, my partner, and dog! Other hotels and airbnbs in the area were extra expensive and/or not pet-friendly due to LDW, and we didn’t want to spend $1,000+ for just a 3-night stay. If you’re looking for a hotel that’s affordable, perfectly located, has a lot of outdoor activities, very dog friendly, and a midwest/vintage charm, Sun & Sand is a great choice. While the rooms are a bit outdated, they were clean and well-kept. The bathroom was especially clean. Some of these reviews scared us, so we brought our own bedding just in case the rooms were as bad as some people said. They were not bad at all. The hotel bedding was also fine — clean and fresh. The room was also not “super small.” It was the perfect size for the three of us, one suitcase, duffle bag, and 2 totes. The only con was that the plumbing in the shower was a bit clogged so the water took a very long time to drain. The mattress was also a bit too soft for our liking, but we slept well. We also enjoyed how family friendly the hotel was. Lots of people outside grilling, laying by the pool, playing corn hole or just relaxing. Great vibes overall!
